I don’t buy too many dry goods but when I do I shop around. I will play stores against each other and do what ever I can to get the best price. If I can’t get it for what I feel is a fair price I move to online vendors.

This time around I was looking for some quality ballast. I called every store and searched online. All gave me a price upfront except for FAOIS who had to call to get a price since it was not a regular item. (No big deal)

Today they called and once again they had by far the best price I have received from any local store. My last few larger equipment purchases have all been purchased from them. Sumps, pumps, bulbs, and now ballast. Every time they have come in well under what I expect from the Local fish stores and in some cases even beating what I can find online. I always try to buy from the locals before going online and John has made this very easy for me time and time again. if your looking for some great pricing on dry good please don’t hesitate to make this your first call. if my findings are any indication know you will not be disappointed.

Keith I do the same thing - check around, look at prices online.  Time and time again I end up purchasing my dry goods from FAOIS.  Remember years ago when the LFS couldn't come close to the prices online.  Those days are gone at least for FAOIS they know what the online vendors are selling the item for and most general they are under or beating the price.  I've been to several stores locally, after looking and comparing prices I've also found them to generally be the lowest.

BTW - they have reef crystals (box 200g) for 40 bucks this weekend - now that's a great price Grin
