thinking about mesh modding my skimmer

Have any of you mesh modded your skimmer before? And if so, were you satisfied?

I believe I have a pretty basic understanding of the mod.


Also, does anyone know where I can find thin acrylic to tie my enkamat too?

I used zip ties. What pump are you doing it to?

First off - I have all kinds of acrylic so just drop by and I'll give you some.
Second - I agree with Chuck as for using zip ties.

Third - I'm only asking you these question so others that are interested in doing this know the reasons to do it.   I guess what I'm saying is don't get pissed because I'm asking questions.

Forth - If you do this mod could you take photos and put it together as a DIY for everyone?  It would be awesome if you could

Why do you think you need this on your skimmer?

What do you expect to get out of the mod?

If you really want proof it helped, I’d get an air and watt meter to see what you have now.  After the mod test again to see if either of the above improves.  You might be able to borrow someone's.  I'm thinking about getting a watt meter and a air meter could also come in handy . . . might have to look at prices.

if it's a sedra than I have a impeller already mesh modded you can try. I quit using it because it just didn't make that much of a difference on my skimmer.
