Looking great Matt now I finally get to see some of my work Smiley.  I used those prefab cabinets for all my other fish stands.  They're cheap, look nice and work great - what else could you ask for?

How does that seam look - at the area the two materials (acrylic/glass) come together?  I'm assuming they had that rim on for a purpose - might have been looks or to have the lid meet the tank.  Of course it always could be for support - to hold the two types of materials together Shocked   :Smiley

Yunno when I got in there, it was just a silicone seam. Everywhere I've looked online states its an all glass aquarium, even ran into someone who seen one shatter in person.  I did leak test it for about 48hrs, so far so good Smiley

COOL!!!  You the man Smiley  Now why do that put all that black plastic on it?  I guess that's just to cover up the back area - that would be one guess.  I can't believe they take the time to bend all that glass.  It sounded just like acrylic and even felt like it - I'm losing my touch messing with all this fish stuff Smiley.

Very nice and thanks for the info!

Neat project!  I'd take the back compartments off and have a small corner over flow with the sump set up.  You're wasting all that space in those compartments that could be part of the display.  I have the same tank at my office and have most of the guts and a chiller running through the wall (no sump though).  The nano gets many compliments.

Hello everyone!

i have finally got some time to finish my stand. a few things have changed with my project however. my wife decided we need some new bedroom furniture and a king size bed. i now have no room to put the tank in my bedroom.  since i like the stand so much, ive decided to replace the 37g in my living room with this system. Now what fun would a 12g be in the living room?? NONE! I went ahead and had FAOIS order me a Mr aqua "frameless" 33.6g tank. The dimensions are 17.7"x24.8"x18". With my granite top being 19"x26", this should fit perfect. Heres a few specs of what the new system will be.

Flow:
vortech mp10
tunze 1073.40 return via/ SCWD thorugh 2x 3/4" loclines
glass holes super nano over flow

Filtration:
10g sump with filter sock
octopus NW110 skimmer
2x phosban reactors

Lighting:
aquamedic pendant
250 watt phoenix 14k  on icecap ballast
Lots of LEDs!

Another thing new im going to try is, bare bottom. I plan on covering the bottom with black starboard. Heres some pics in the meantime.

Thanks! I have had the same walmart stand for almost 6 years now! My main concern is that this system is as easy on the eyes as possible. I have put a lot of money into my corals and equipment, but my tank and stand have been FUGLY for sometime now lol.
